So many 7 C’s!

I read about Charles Leadbeater’s tipps about Innovation. The 7 C’s: Crisis, Curiousity, Combination, Conversation, Co-Evolution, Challenge and Commitment.

I found out there are so many other 7 C’s:

7 C’s of Communication Design: Context, Content, Components, Cuts, Composition, Contrast and Consistency.
7 C’s of Cellphones: Communication, Consumption, Creation, Commerce, Community, Commercials and Control.
7 C’s of Knowledge Leadership: Context, Competence, Culture, Communities, Conversation, Communications and Coaching.
7 C’s of Capabilities: Core, Concepts, Customer, Constellations, Conciliation, Course and Character.
7 C’s of History: Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe, Confusion, Christ, Cross and Consummation. (Funny)
7 C’s if your parents are Alcoholics: Cause, Cure, Control, Care, Communicating, Choices and Celebrating. (Sad)

Those are 7 x 7 C’s. There are more but you can google for yourself;)

Thinking about wisdom

I feel it’s a very important thing in life. But I can’t really define it. So I wanted to check what the “common brain” says about it on wikipedia in English and German. I used to believe that the older you get the wiser you become but I’m not convinced about that anymore.

Can even children be wise if they have a pure heart? Wisdom has nothing to do with knowledge but much more with intuition and empathy (maybe in combination with knowledge and experience leading to knowing that you don’t know nothing, just as Socrates).

I feel we need more wise people! Especially wise powerful people. We are getting there. But we can do better, can’t we? I don’t know if I can but I’ll definitively try to get there.

Nokia’s future mobile phones

Nanotechnology makes it possible. The future mobile phone is not only a phone (like the iPhone) but can do lots of other things due to new technology and it’s material. Have a look at the video here. Amazing! I like the fact that the phone can become a wristband because that’s the object I would like my mobile phone to be.

Craig Venter and his way of reducing CO2

He’s a biologist and genetics pioneer and was explaining how to design bacteria that “eat” CO2 and produce “fourth-generation fuel”. So he could solve 2 problems at once maybe within 18 month from now. Watch his TED speech here.

Some of the things he was telling remembered me of my first semester biology at the univesity. I remeber the cutting and putting together the dna. I really loved microbiology, zoology and genetics but hated all the mathematics, physics, chemistry and mathematics that’s why I changed to design. I don’t regret it but I didn’t forget about what I learned back then because it still interests me. Anyway. Now people can really built the sequence from a code in the computer. Is that too much of playing around? Not really. Is this ethical? If it could save the world it is, isn’t it? But it could also destroy it, no (suicide genes)? It has good and bad aspects. At the moment I think it’s worth giving a try. Act now and don’t be pessimistic!

Saatchi & Saatchi S

saatchi s

Saatchi & Saatchi made a deal with Act Now Productions forming Saatchi & Saatchi S. I’m really excited about that and I am curious to know what’s the outcome of a merge between one of the most successful marketing/advertising company and a potential environment consultancy. I would love to work with them and to become part of their story. Let’s see if they like my portfolio. I’m still waiting for a reply.

Young and idealist - connect2earth!

logo

Another community I joined. But it’s a good feeling to become part of an important project.

Connect2earth is using the modern technology (mobile phones) to make a contribution (video, image, text) in order to draw attention to the problem we are facing e.g. exploiting/distroying our world. It’s an initiative supported by WWF, IUCN and Nokia and participants have the chance to show their contribution at the IUCN World Conservation Congress in Barcelona this October.

Can one be creative when one is pessimistic? Once more too many questions:-/

I was thinking… What makes a person creative? Are creative people happier people? E.g. Can pessimistic people not be creative? Am I creative because I’m optimistic? Or optimistic and therefore creative? (Is it related to being naive?)
Who is creative? - Everybody is. But children are more creative. Are children happier? Do children have depressions? - I mean really bad pesstimistic mind-sets. I don’t think so… if so, very seldom!

“All children are artists. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up” said Picasso. E.g. All children are creative and optimistic. The problem is how to remain creative and optimistic once he grows up. If that’s the case: What makes people less creative and optimistic the older they get. Is it time - life? Bad experiences. (What’s bad? I mean really bad.) You have to adapt. (Who sais that? Religion, family, yourself) Why? To fit. To fit where? Society. To be safe. To have something to hold on. Rules. To know what’s right and wrong. Who sais what IS right and wrong? Is there a right and wrong?

You mean. We become pessimist because we think there is a right and wrong. What if you don’t know the concept of right and wrong? Then you don’t fit society. You’re a looser. What’s a looser anyway? But then again, you are optimistic and creative and happy. Which I believe is life’s nature - optimum and creation - evolution. But maybe we search for pessimism and destruction as a balance. The concept of yin and yang, male and female, happy and sad etc. Maybe we ar not searching but it just happens. My thoughts could go on forever…

Nachtrag Pecha Kucha Bern
