This star is one of Mayari’s “open source” products. Watch the diy movie below to copy the X-Mas Star for your own use. Copy as many as you want but please, if someone asks, give me credit by telling her/him you got the idea from this website i.e. a designer & artist who turns trash into treasure. Thanks a lot!

Also, I’d be happy to see your copy, so please send me a picture of your star if you like!

Notebook – Limited Edition: Save The World a TetraPak/Earth Day

NotebookLimitedEditionEarthday2010

Mayari’s pocket notebook that has its very own documented story.

About this work: I made this notebook on Earth Day 2010, April 22nd in the street of London’s Islington.

My statement: I want to save the world! But I can’t, I’m only human. Fact is, I’m (yet) a poor, unpopular artist without money nor power. But what I can do is to save a beverage carton at a time. Acting so I help us as well as mother earth by turning trash into treasures. Today, on Earth Day I saved a TetraPak I found on the street from going into landfill and gave it a second life as a notebook. See the video below and the twittered picture here.

Dimensions: 82 x 90 x 7 mm
Ingredients: beverage carton (found & saved), elastic ribbon (CH), lamination foil (UK), 5 staples, thread, recycled white paper (30 pages), sticky notes (20 sheets).

Designed in Switzerland, made in Islington, London
Limited Edition (1 piece in total only)
Expected lifespan: at least 3 years after first use. If treated with care, it should last for a lifetime and even longer!
After its use it could become a collectible piece of artwork.

NotebookLimitedEditionSightseeingLondon

3 Notebooks by Mayari with their very own and true story.

About this design-art: I made these Notebooks on a sightseeing trip shortly after I got back to London. Can I get any more transparent?

Trips can be much more fun with a companion. Do you live in London and like to come along next time I go on a Nomad Crafts tour? Contact me if you are interested. I can also show you how to make products like the Change Wallet.
